On the Land

A golf cartoon about 2 fish who hit an errant shot on land.

I’m guessing this is what fish think when they hit it OB. Either way, they have plenty of my balls to play with! Especially at the left pond on number 3 at Lincoln Park Golf Course in my hometown.

Even Underwater, Golf Is Still Golf

This cartoon reimagines a familiar golf frustration in an exaggerated underwater setting. By placing golf clubs and balls beneath the surface, the joke plays on how golfers often respond to a bad shot by immediately trying again, regardless of circumstances.

The humor comes from treating an obviously unrealistic situation as if it were completely normal. Lost balls, quick reloads, and optimistic follow-up shots are part of the game, and those habits are carried into the scene for comedic effect.

By exaggerating a common golfer mindset, this cartoon highlights how persistence — sometimes misplaced — is central to golf culture. It’s a lighthearted reminder that no matter the environment, golfers tend to react the same way when a shot doesn’t go as planned.
