Sun Dance

I came up with this in late January, after a storm hit the entire United States. The course I usually play here in Colorado was already closed of course, but this made it seem more, I don’t know….bleak? Anyway, I was about to hire some ancient Incas to do a sun dance for me. More here:

When winter weather refuses to cooperate, golfers start getting creative. From superstition to hopeful rituals, the desire to see the sun come out and the course reopen can make even the most reasonable people act a little desperate. This cartoon pokes fun at that familiar offseason mindset — the lengths golfers joke about going to just to get back on the course.

Cold weather closures, snow-covered fairways, and delayed openings are a shared frustration for golfers everywhere. Humor has always been a way to cope with the wait, especially when cabin fever sets in and tee times feel impossibly far away. While the scene is exaggerated for comedy, the feeling behind it is very real for anyone counting down the days until golf season returns.
